To reheat in the microwave you first must unwrap your Mealpod and discard the foil. See how easy it is to unwrap the foil in the video above. Once it is unwrapped place the frozen Mealpod on a plate and cover with a plastic microwaveable dome.
If you don't have one, cover with wax paper or a paper towel to prevent spattering. Microwave on med-high for 2-3 minutes, stirring 3/4 of the way through. If you are warming more than one Mealpod you will need to add extra time. Recipes will have differing exact heating times; for instance rice dishes take less time to heat than more dense dishes.
If your Mealpod was placed in a plastic container be very careful when removing the frozen lid because plastic becomes brittle when frozen. Remove the lid of your container and place loosely on top to catch spatter. Place in the microwave and cook for the same time and heat setting as above.
If you have time to oven heat your Mealpods your meal will be even more delicious. Microwaves heat so quickly it is easy to overheat and dry out the edges of the pod. The design of the pods solves those problems the best it can, but reheating in an oven or toaster oven heats the pods even more evenly keeping them moist inside.
You can reheat your Mealpods right in the foil if using a conventional oven. Preheat the oven to 350-400 degrees. Place how ever many Mealpods you are heating right in the foil packets on a cookie sheet and heat for approximately 25-30 minutes. You don't have to add extra time for additional Mealpods in the oven. When finished unwrap and enjoy.
